Moist Grain Maize

In more favourable sites the Samco System can be used to grow Moist Grain Maize Corn (M.G.M.) Moist Grain Maize is similar to Ground Ear Maize but the ear is more mature and the harvesting takes place with a stripper header fitted to a combine. The stripper header pulls down the plant, the cob continues on into the combine where the Maize Grains are removed and the centre husk and leaves continues out through the combine. The moist grain is then brought to the storage area where it is processed and ensiled. We recommend an additive to prevent spoilage at feeding out time Typical Analysis: 35% Moisture and 65% Starch (a perfect feed).
